Terms of Service

qolloc is operated by Bastien Schwitz, a sole trader (natural person, no registered company) based in Switzerland, with a registered address at Chemin de Rionza 3, 1020 Renens, Vaud, Switzerland (“qolloc”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@qolloc.com.

qolloc is a person-discovery app for flat-sharing. We help you build a profile, discover other people looking for or offering a room, send and receive match requests, and chat in the app once a request is accepted.

qolloc is only an introduction platform. We are not a party to any rental, tenancy, or sublet agreement you may enter into, we are not a real-estate broker or agency, and we do not verify, endorse, or guarantee any room, person, price, or arrangement. Any agreement you reach is solely between you and the other person.

During this early (POC) phase, qolloc is free to use. There are no paid features and no payments are processed through the service.

qolloc is strictly for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the service. We collect your date of birth to confirm this and may refuse or close any account that does not meet the age requirement.

You must provide accurate information, keep only one account, and use qolloc for its intended purpose. You are responsible for everything done through your account.

You sign in with your email address. Keep your access to that inbox secure — anyone who controls it can access your account.

You may optionally verify a student email address (for example a university address). Verification is optional, is used only to display a trust signal to other users, and does not gate access to the core service. We handle verification data with particular care (see our Privacy Policy).

qolloc only works if people treat each other with respect. When using the service you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against anyone, including on the basis of origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any protected characteristic;
• post false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate another person;
• upload photos or content you do not have the right to share, or that show other people without their consent;
• post unlawful, sexual, hateful, or otherwise offensive content;
• advertise a room you have no right to offer, or solicit anyone off-platform to circumvent our rules;
• collect other users' data, spam them, or use qolloc for any commercial purpose we have not authorised;
• attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.

You keep ownership of the photos, text, and other content you add to qolloc. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and process that content for the sole purpose of operating the service (for example, showing your profile to other users).

You are responsible for your content and for your interactions with other people. We may review, moderate, hide, or remove content and may warn, suspend, or close accounts that break these Terms or the law. You can report a profile, message, or user to us at hello@qolloc.com.

qolloc facilitates introductions between people. We do not guarantee that you will find a flatmate, receive requests, or reach any particular outcome, and we do not carry out background checks on users.

You are meeting strangers. Use good judgement: meet in public first, tell someone where you are going, and never send money or share sensitive documents with someone you have not verified. You interact with other users at your own risk.

If your arrangement involves subletting, Swiss law (art. 262 of the Code of Obligations) requires the main tenant to obtain the landlord's consent. Making sure any sublet is lawful is entirely your responsibility. qolloc is not a party to any lease or sublet agreement.

The qolloc name, logo, software, and design are protected and remain ours. These Terms do not give you any right to use them beyond using the service as intended.

qolloc is provided during an early testing phase. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and we do not promise any particular level of availability or uninterrupted access.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, qolloc is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or that it will meet your expectations, and we are not responsible for the conduct, honesty, or reliability of any user.

To the extent permitted by Swiss law, qolloc is not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost opportunities, or damage arising from your dealings with other users, from meetings arranged through the service, or from any rental or sublet arrangement. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

You can stop using qolloc and delete your account at any time via your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, the law, or the rights of others, or to protect the community.

We may update these Terms as the service develops. If we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to inform you. By continuing to use qolloc after an update takes effect, you accept the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and any international treaty that would apply another law. Subject to any mandatory place of jurisdiction that protects you as a consumer, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for any dispute is the canton of Vaud (Lausanne district), Switzerland.
